You add ‘s’ to form the plural of most nouns:
E.G.    book — books                         table — tables

You addesto nouns ending in ss’, ‘s’, ‘ch’, ‘sh, or x:
E.G.    glass — glasses           bus — buses
tax — taxes     church — churches     dish — dishes

You add esto nouns ending ino:
E.G.     tomato — tomatoes

But some nouns ending in o take  s only for the plural.
E.G.    piano — pianos           photo — photos

Nouns ending in a consonant andyin the singular end iniesin the plural:
E.G.    baby — babies

Nouns ending in a vowel andyadd ans’:
E.G. day — days
