EXERCISE 2

Below are two pictures of houses in very different styles. Read the sentences below and then label each house correctly:

1. A loft or attic is the name given to a room at the top of a house.

2. A cellar is a cool place underneath the house; wine is sometimes kept there.

3. The courtyard is the area in front of the house, where plants are sometimes kept and people can sit to drink coffee or rest.

4. Every house has a roof which covers the top of the house.

5. If you are lucky, you may have a balcony outside your window, where you can sit and watch the stars!

6. A garden can be found at the back or at the front of the house.

7. A roof garden is the solution if you don't have a garden outside your house.

8. A porch is a wide step outside the front door; you can keep plants on it.
